Everyone read the Project Perception launch as "Microsoft comes for Anthropic's Mythos." Wrong map. The real story is that Microsoft, the company with the deepest OpenAI entanglement on the planet, just shipped a flagship security product that calls Anthropic's models in the same request. Project Perception enters public preview August 3. If you spent 2025 negotiating an enterprise agreement to make one lab your "AI standard," Perception is a shot across the bow. Model quality is now a commodity input you route around, not a strategic commitment you marry. The leaders who bet the stack on a single vendor are about to discover their differentiator was rented.

And the exploit-proving step matters more than the model roulette. Most "AI security" tooling drowns you in maybe-vulnerabilities — the classic false-positive firehose that trains your team to ignore the dashboard.
